Deepa brings over 15 years of experience as a physiotherapist, having worked in one of the leading public hospitals in the Western Sydney Local Health District, as well as in private clinical settings. She has a special interest in Women’s Health Physiotherapy and also is a certified Lymphoedema Practitioner.
Deepa is the principal physiotherapist & Director at Oedema Clinics, www.oedemaclinics.com.au and excited to be commencing her Norwest Womens Physio practice providing all women’s health physiotherapy services at Optimum Health Clinic.


Deepa is deeply passionate about empowering women to reclaim and regain their health across all stages of life. Her expertise covers a wide range of conditions related to pregnancy, postpartum recovery, menopause, and chronic pelvic pain.
Some of the common women’s health conditions seen by Deepa include:
- Pregnancy related changes – antenatal pelvic girdle pain,sacroiliac pain, round ligament pain and pelvic floor preparation for birthing.
- Postnatal physiotherapy supports recovery of core and pelvic floor after perineal tears,episitomies and addresses musculoskeletal pain, C-section scar management.
- Abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti) post-delivery.
- Pelvic floor dysfunction, including Stress urinary incontinence, urgency and urge related incontinence.
- Pre & post Gynaecological surgery rehabilitation.
- Chronic pelvic pain associated with endometriosis, vaginismus, dyspareunia, pudendal neuralgia.
- Menopause related pelvic floor dysfunction eg vaginal dryness and pelvic pain (via education, pelvic floor training, and lubricants).
- Bone health through resistance and balance training.

In addition to women’s health, Deepa specialises in lymphoedema management esp for breast cancer related arm lymphoedema that includes lymphoedema education, manual lymphatic drainage, laser therapy,use of pneumatic compression pump, specific decongestive exercises, bandaging and custom made garment prescription.
The common conditions treated under lymphoedema includes:
- Breast cancer rehabilitation services
- Early screening and intervention for breast-related arm lymphoedema, breast oedema post breast cancer surgeries along with axillary lymph node dissection,radiation therapy.
- Shoulder care-post mastectomy, lumpectomy, breast reconstruction.
- Scar tissue management.
- Axillary web syndrome / Cording.
- Chronic lymphoedema management after cancer treatment/post-surgery or venous pathologies.
- Post cancer rehabilitation (Individualised exercise program).
- Decrease cancer related side effects including fatigue and improve strength and joint range of motion.
- Promote optimal functional recovery and improve quality of life.
- Lipoedema management.
She uses a holistic, evidence-based approach, integrating physiotherapy, lymphoedema care, and cancer rehabilitation to offer personalized treatment plans that improve function, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Her extensive experience and heartfelt commitment have strengthened her vision of advancing care for women, offering support that is both clinically sound and deeply empathetic. Deepa strongly believes in developing a therapeutic partnership with her clients, guiding them to achieve their optimal health and recovery goals.
Outside of her professional life, Deepa enjoys reading and exploring topics in neuroscience, human emotions, and motivation. She practices yoga, Pilates, and meditation, and finds joy in Bollywood dancing. Most importantly, she treasures her role as a mother to two vibrant kids soon entering teens and embraces the evolving journey of parenthood.
