Dr Ghiyath Alsnih is a specialist advanced laparoscopic general surgeon, who has public practice at Blacktown and Mt Druitt Hospital and private practice at Norwest Private Hospital and Lakeview Private Hospital.

Dr Alsnih is also a senior lecturer in Surgery at the University of Western Sydney.

Dr Alsnih completed his general surgical training in NSW and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Dr Alsnih is also GESA-accredited for gastrointestinal endoscopy.

In addition to general surgery, he has vast experience in Head and Neck Surgery; his first fellowship obtained overseas in 2000.

Dr Alsnih’s interests include:

• Hernias – laparoscopic and open- inguinal, ventral abdominal and incisional hernia repair.
• Gall bladder disease – laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
• Thyroid- thyroidectomy.
• Skin cancer excision and repair including skin flaps.
• Carpal tunnel repair.
• Lipomas and soft tissue mass excision.
• Gastroscopy -gastritis, reflux, ulcers.
• Colonoscopy -haemorrhoid management, fistula management, rectal bleeding management, FOBT, diverticular disease.
